The common goal, or objectives that the international investigation had or the joint investigation, was to be able to go overseas and hold suspects accountable for the crimes they had committed internationally, but also work collaboratively to try to determine ways to prevent the continuation of these offenses or new offenses in the future. And that was partially would be able to be done through enforcement and showing that these international partners these federal agencies from multiple countries would be able to come together and go overseas and arrest and prosecute suspects involved and I think it was important in that it would show that suspects can’t hide behind their computer, behind their cell phones just because they’re in a different country, or on a different continent, that if they’re going to commit these crimes internationally, that international partners are going to work together and are going to hold them accountable for what they’ve done.

I think it’s important for people that are involved in it or considering being involved in crimes like this to understand that they’re not protected, they’re not safe just because they’re doing it over the internet, they’re doing it from another country, from another continent that we as law enforcement internationally recognize the extreme impact that crimes like this have on our communities, and we will do everything within our ability to identify them, arrest them, and prosecute them.
