While a complex mall attack training exercise was going on inside the mall on May 1, 2014, FBI Dallas Special Agent in Charge Diego Rodriguez, along with Plano (Texas) Police Department Assistant Police Chief Gay Schaffer and other managers, took part in a tabletop exercise at the unified command post set up outside the mall.
