FBI New Orleans Seeking Diverse Special Agent Candidates

The FBI New Orleans Division is hosting a Diversity Agent Recruitment (DAR) event for select professionals considering a future career as an FBI agent.

Special Agents are chosen from applicants with diverse backgrounds, skills, opinions, and perspectives. The FBI is seeking candidates who are particularly strong in STEM, legal, accounting, foreign language, education, communications, and athletics.

“The FBI is challenged like never before with rapidly changing technology combined with complex and evolving threats from adversaries, both foreign and domestic,” said FBI New Orleans Special Agent in Charge Lyonel Myrthil. “The diversity of our staff is the most valuable resource we have in tackling these issues and keeping Americans safe.”

The FBI New Orleans DAR event will be held Wednesday, July 17th in Metairie, Louisiana from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. This is an invitation only event and the deadline to apply is July 1st. Those who qualify to attend will have an opportunity to meet one-on-one with current special agents and FBI executives for insight into the position. The event will also feature panel discussions and networking opportunities to provide prospective candidates with awareness and understanding of the special agent application process, qualification requirements, and physical fitness standards.

There is no cost to attend, and attendees will not be required to submit a formal application following the event. Details about the location of the event will be made available to qualified individuals who complete the registration process.
